Kelly believes that the therapeutic relationship is at the core of individual and family work. She strives to make therapy a safe and open environment for every individual she encounters.  Kelly centers her individual work on providing compassion, addressing narratives, and building strength for managing life’s many transitions.  When working with children, Kelly believes in the power of play, art, and connection to build relationships and skill-building along with processing challenging life events.  In family work, Kelly supports increasing communication, building compassion and connection while honoring families’ inherent strengths and background. In individual therapy with adults, our work will be geared towards finding balance in navigating the unknown and building coping tools to manage life’s stressors.  In all aspects of Kelly’s work, she is acknowledging systems of oppression and is committed to the ongoing development of working from an anti-oppressive and affirming lens.

Kelly is a Clinical Social Work Associate who received her Masters in Social Work at Portland State University with a focus on Children and Families.  Kelly’s approach is client-centered and family-focused, she utilizes a strength-based lens with all of her clients.  Kelly has training in attachment theory, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Art and Play therapy, and Mindfulness. She employs an eclectic approach depending on her client’s needs. Kelly has worked with children and families in community-based, school-based, and a variety of settings for 10+ years.  Kelly is a lifelong learner and frequently accesses community training and seminars to support her learning and professional development as a therapist.
