Erin is a Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapist Associate providing therapy for children, couples, families, and adult individuals across the lifespan. She works collaboratively with clients to understand their goals for therapy, tailoring the format of therapy to clients’ unique needs. Erin believes that life is not a predictable path and hardships cannot be overcome in isolation. Her role is to walk beside you supportively as you discover what you are needing. Whether it be building deeper relationships, navigating life stressors, or processing past traumas, Erin utilizes warmth, creativity, and playfulness in the relationship to move with you and/or your family towards healing. She is mindful of how oppressive systems impact marginalized communities, and actively strives to make therapy a safe and affirming space for all identities.

Erin pulls from a variety of modalities, emphasizing an experiential and relational approach rooted in the belief that every human is inherently striving to reach their fullest potential, and that external systems can impact growth. Her work is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Existential Humanism, Family Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, and Polyvagal Theory. When working with children and families, she incorporates a variety of expressive art and play therapy techniques informed by Child-Centered Play Therapy and Gestalt Play Therapy. Prior to getting an M.A. in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy, Erin received a degree and had a career in art and design. She also has additional training on trauma informed approaches, play therapy, and neurodivergence in both adults and children.

As a parent, Erin has deep compassion for how messy, vulnerable, and confusing parenting and the journey to it can be, and the impact it can have on our relationships to ourselves and others. She recognizes the sensitivity that can emerge as we age or navigate caregiving for our own children while also making sense of how we were parented. She enjoys supporting clients through perinatal and postpartum mental health, and helping caregivers and children navigate childhood anxiety, trauma, or challenging behaviors. Erin also enjoys supporting adult individuals and couples through life transitions such as career changes, shifts in family formations, and identity exploration.

Outside of work, Erin enjoys biking with her family around the city, seeking out unique playgrounds of Portland, playing soccer, reading, and daydreaming about having more time in the day to revisit the creative hobbies of her youth.
