Melissa works with families and couples who are motivated to enhance their relationships through secure attachment techniques, nonviolent communication skills, and changing generational patterns to heal trauma. Melissa’s therapeutic practice has primarily been with young people (3-26) who are neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and/or hold unprocessed trauma.

Melissa holds a graduate degree in Social Work and undergraduate degree in Psychology. She is guided by theories including, but not limited to, Feminist Theories, Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Self-Determination Theory, and that play is our first language. Therapy with Melissa often involves somatic techniques, play therapy techniques, and nature-based techniques, with the belief that we all benefit from improving our own mind-body connection, interpersonal connections, as well as a sense of belonging with the natural world.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys tending to her plants, being active with her dogs, and training in circus arts.
