Michelle (she/her) emphatically believes in the dignity and worth of all people. She views therapy as a way to help individuals realize their own wisdom and strengths. Michelle strives to offer her clients support, encouragement, and feedback for change. Michelle believes it is a privilege to walk alongside children, parents, couples, and families while they seek growth and navigate challenging situations. She is committed to establishing a relationship built on trust and respect to work together and achieve client goals. She operates from a strengths-based and person-centered perspective. Her theoretical approach stems from Family Systems Theory and Attachment Theory.
Michelle received her Masters of Social Work from George Fox University. She has experience working with children and families in crisis both through previous nonprofit work and a graduate internship at Randall Children’s Hospital. Michelle has training on intimate partner violence through Clackamas Women’s Services. She also holds a certification for ASIST suicide training. Michelle is a former preschool teacher and has experience supporting young children and their parents. Michelle also enjoys the challenge of working with teenagers. Michelle is passionate about supporting couples (whether they are parents, or not) as they navigate the challenges of romantic relationships.
When she’s not seeing clients, Michelle can be found spending time with her two teenage children and Honey the Goldendoodle. Michelle enjoys taking advantage of Portland’s cuisine, comedy TV shows with her teens, family game nights, U of O football games, singing to the radio, and a never-ending stream of fiction audiobooks.
